What you guys do truly IS extraordinary. My perfect son and I are both alive today because of these big, burly bikers and the March of Dimes. I may never get to say thanks in person to any of you, but I will be forever grateful to all of you. Rock on, KC!
Rebecca
HAD A GREAT TIME!!!!!!! I LOVE YOU GUYS!!

Bikers 4 Babies was great yesterday! I just can not believe there is no news coverage for this hugh event. I e-mailed Fox 4 and shamed them for not covering this wonderful event. Come on even one of there own was there and still no coverage! A special thanks to Dee Snider for standing there for hours signing autographs and taking pics! Thanks to everyone who participated in whatever way! Go Bikers!

As a NICU nurse, I get to see the March of Dimes at work everyday. This event is amazing! I am also a mom of a wonderful boy that was born 15 weeks too early. He is a happy, healthy 6 1/2 year old and guess what? He LOVES motorcycles…You see where I am going with this? Thank you for all you do for this great cause!

An OUTSTANDING day! Best weather I can recall since I’ve been riding for the babies. Would have made a great “feel good” news story but I guess the media still thinks we’re all still second class folks… Would like an update on the 3 accidents and the riders/passangers who were LifeFlighted to KU Med or the one that they took to Lawrence. Anyone have any news. Let’s keep the riders who couldn’t ride back in our prayers. Thanks again for your hard work, Johnny D !!!

Me and a buddy have been riding the ride 5 years in a row now (ever since I purchased my first bike). He actually had Chiefs tickets and turned them down so he could ride. He said that he would rather go to the bikers for babies ride that he KNEW was going to be a win. Had a great time as we do every year. Thanks to Johnny and Dee for all they do for this cause.

B4B rocked and the weather was great ……… I want to get more involved with it and get with Ed’s possie ……. I would think that with us (Kansas City) being the largest one that we would have every news outlet out there

first time riders -will be back every year-thanks to johnny for getting the word out and being a driving force for the kids- being a k.c. star carrier i was ashamed that they did not do a piece in the paper ,largest ride in the country and they blew it-think all should get down on kansas city media for thier lack off coverage thanks again johnny

Just wanted to say the ride was good had a bad ass time. I hope the guy who had to be life flighted has a full and quick recovery. Cant wait till next year
tiffany
my husband and i got to see you guys return to the speedway, unfortunately we couldn’t see the beginning, all i could do was stand there in awe at all the bikes. that’s a sound that never gets old. you guys are great. keep it up.
Barefoot
Clay, The reason the event got zero media coverage (positive or negetive) is because a bunch of folks had too good of a time at last years gig and showed their ass to the residents that live along the ride. They put up a small fuss that was covered by the news dummies and therefor they wanted nothing to do with covering this years event. All the work that goes into it and all the good that comes out of it for the M.O.D. and the kids and it’s like it never happened….

First of all, this is the first time i have rode in bikers for babies. My dad has been riding since the day he found out I was pregnant in 2003. I have been wanting to go and wanting to go but something always happened. Well not this year, We made it a family event… My 5-year old got to ride in, my sister rode out, I rode in the middle and my mom rode back in. The rest of the time we were in the jerp loving it. MOD and B4B is an awsome event and I am glad to be a part of it. Rain or Shine the Bikers are there. It is awsome to see such a community come to gather to help the babies. WTG everyone that was there or donated or both.
On another note- I took a lot of random pictures at B4B and videos. they are posted on the website that I gave. Please some and look through them and leave a comment with your name I would love to give everyone credit who deserves it and trust all you guys deserve it. http://www.facebook.com/allIcanBisME

My 2 year old son got a little restless during church so we stepped out onto the porch just in time to see Johnny and Dee ride by. Needless to say we didn’t make it back inside for quite a while. He liked to name the colors of the bikes as they went by. Thank you for all that you do.
Yesterday I participated in the ride with my husband. Words can not express how amazing it was to be a part of something so awesome! I have posted a blog and photos and people are checking it out like crazy and commenting. Thank you for the opportunity, thank you for all that you do!
Mike
I am in Law Enforcement and helped direct traffic thru Oskaloosa with this event – you all ROCK it was a great day and a great cause

Johnny:
This was our first bikers for babies event. Our granddaughter was born at Overland Park NICU in 2006 at 1 lb. 4 oz. We are pleased to say she is a healthy almost 4 year old and we are so glad that people like you and Mr. Snyder care so much for these babies!! Lilly had a great time yesterday and we were very impressed with the interest Mr. Snyder took in asking about and talking with our miracle, Lilly. We are looking forward to participating again next year. Keep up the great work and God bless you both!!
Sherry
What an electric day the B4B was, words cannot describe. A big thank you to all involved in making it a huge success for MOD. I am very humbled every year I attend the ride. Keep up the fantastic work!!
Bikerdog
Barefoot, The guy they lifeflighted to KU Med was in our group that all came to the ride together. I was right behind him when he lost it. He was on a chopper and hit a smooth spot a the Midland cure just outside of lawrence. The front tire slid out from under him. He just about had it back under control when he left the road and it was all over then. I have never saw anything so terbile in my life. He broke 5 verts in his back and has no feeling from the chest down. So lets all keep him and his family in our prays.
Barefoot
Bikerdog, Sorry to hear you had to witness it and it was someone you knew. He’s been our prayers from the time we heard about it when we were still in Eudora. If you can, post his first name or his nick name.
Thanks for the update!

My boyfriend and I participated in the ride on Sunday for the first time. We have always thought Bikers For Babies was one of the greatest charities you support. When we actually got there and saw all the bikes and all the supporters, we were overwhelmed with happiness and that feeling of knowing we are out here doing something good. We rode in from Topeka, Ks and will continue to do so every year. This was an experience we will never forget! Thank You for the opportunity to help!

I just wanted to say Thank you to everyone who rode, volunteered, donated and just supported all of the riders. This was my husbands third ride, and every year he gets choked up, when he sees how many bikers have hearts of gold.
I got to see the awesomeness for the first time this year, I was standing on the hill in front of Cabela’s and the thunder you guys make is astounding, there are no words to describe it. Kansas City ROCKS! Even if we get no press coverage, it doesn’t matter, WE KNOW what we do is a good thing
Mark
Wow, what a ride! I’ve been going on the run since ’02 and I was amazed aat the weather. It was the best I can remember. It’s always so much fun to meet old/new friends out at the track and to be a part of such an amazing event. Kansas City and B4B are fantastic.
Penny
Bikerdog, please tell the family of your friend that everyone associated with Bikers for Babies is hurting because someone who rode on Sunday for such an important cause is now needing our prayers. We will share your message with others to strengthen the voices and prayers for his recovery.
Lisa
This was our first but definatley not our last ride. We just purchased a bike in June this ride was amazing and will become a tradition we are already planning for next year. We are recruiting more riders for next year. We have seen first had was March of Dimes does and it was a very worthy cause. I am so happy that so many people in the area spend the time to make it a great day.
Rick
I was in Eudora and what really impressed me most was the number of smiles I saw ride by. Wish I had more room on my memory card for more pics. I let my son that another cool thing was the variety of people riding. It was truly impressive. Maybe some year I’ll be able to join the ride. Our prayers go out to the injured rider and his family.

Man finally one with the best weather ever. I remember my first one in 2001 with the rain and almost a 20 degree temp drop.. Everyone still had a great time though.. This event just keeps growing. Kudos to all the volunteers that helped make this thing happen.. The pancakes did me wonders (had a hangover). Teachers Pet did a great job. Dee Snider was cool. Johnny your still a dork , hahaha. But you are one of the reasons this is the biggest BFB ride in the country.
I had a blast. I just joined a charitable motorcycle org. called James Gang Inc. Most of us showed up. I think we are gonna have a contest to see who can raise the most money for next year.
Any word on the riders that went down ? Or how much was raised?
http://ks-ride.com Dave
My wife was a premature baby with a hole in her heart. We wanted to do something special to raise even more money for Bikers for Babies – so we took pictures of every single rider that rode the full ride (up to 2:30 PM). We were located just east of Perry Lake. Please check out our website and buy a photo of yourself, or your loved one doing the ride. We are trying to raise another $2500 for March of Dimes from the photo sales. KS-RIDE.COM

Barefoot
Bikerdog, If you guys are going to host a ride for your buddy, let us all know where and when. I’d be proud to at least do that much…
Joan

Barefoot, the name of the guy that was in the accident is John. My husband was also riding with the group as well. Therew were 5 of them total. I just know it’s been a very tramatic event for my husband, step-daughter and Bikerdog cause they saw the whole accident. John and his whole family have been in my thoughts and prayers ever since the accident. We are getting updates from his brother-in-law, who was also riding with the group from day to day.

This was my third year for the ride. I got laid off in March, but I knew I was not going to miss this ride. I almost didn’t make it because of a flat back tire Saturday night. But two of my best friends got together and spent 3 hours pulling the back tire off and replacing the tube. They wanted to make sure I made the ride. I didn’t hear about the wreck until I got back to the Speedway. Apparently John was behind us. They can do amazing things with spinal injuries these days. I have had two spinal injuries and I’m still riding. My prayers go out to him and his family. I hope to see him ride again one day. I can’t believe it didn’t even make the news. This is the first site I found that had any information on the accident.
Barefoot
Shell76, Thanks for putting up a name for us. John has been on my mind since that ride. I’ve rode in three since and tell his story at each one. I’ll remember him everytime I strap on my helmet… More news would be hip is anyone has any. Thanks again, we’ll keep praying for him and whole crew.

On Sunday Sept 20th 2009 John was airlifted to the Hospital where he was admitted in critical condition. On Wednesday the 23rd John had the following surgical procedures done: Cervical Spine C4, C5, & C6, damaged discs taken out and bone graft plates were inserted. Thoracic Spine T5 & T6 were crushed therefore a Titanimum implants were inserted at T3 down to T8 on each side. Nothing could be done for all his broken ribs, & fractured cheek bone. His nose was broken and repaired by the plastic surgeon. On the 26th of Sept he had the procedure called a Tracheostomy completed. Unfortunately John contracted pnemonia and a week later a staff infection in his lungs. Through treatment his pnemonia & infection have been cleared. He has now been transferred to a Pulmonary Hospital to wing him off his respirator………updates will follow as his conditions changes…..
Update…on Wednesday October 21st John was transported to NKC Hospital where they took the feeding tube from his nose and did a GI procedure therefore his feeding tube is now in his stomach…he then had his ambulance ride back to the pulminary hospital where is recovering nicely. We have started a medical fund for John at http://johncoonsmedicalfund.org we need all the fundraisers and support we can get. I am John’s baby sis and you can contact me or Brother Bill at wildbillcoons@gmail.com
