Dear Johnny Dare Morning Show,
I’m normally not the type of person to ask for help. My (half) sister who lives in Michigan was diagnosed with breast cancer several years ago. Unfortunately, it has metastasized to her brain and spine. Her doctor gave her 3-6 months to live and that was about a month ago. My father, who also has cancer, went to see her last week and she has went downhill. She developed an internal infection and was transferred from the hospice house to ICU. I had planned to go see her but my car broke down so there went that money. So, I have been renting a car for a week and a half and it is not cheap. I received 2 calls yesterday. One to tell me my car is going to be over $1000 to fix instead of $500 and that my sister requested to be moved to her house. Hospice will be taking care of her at her home. The doctors told her husband, we will be lucky if she makes it to Christmas. My family is trying to help out the best they can, but unfortunately cancer and heart attacks love my family. My father has cancer, My stepdad has had 3 heart attacks in 4 years and my father in law has been diagnosed with stage 4 bone cancer. Money is tight for everyone, but they are doing their best to help. I have 2 beautiful daughters. Age 11 and 16. Luckily, I have raised my daughters to know the true meaning of Christmas and they have told me as long as they have me and their family, they dont need any presents. Although, this makes me happy, it breaks my heart. I am a hard working pediatric nurse who would just like to catch a break. I would love to see my sister before she passes. I know there are many people in this world worse off than me and I am grateful for what I have. Thank you so much for your time and consideration.
