Dear Johnny Dare Morning Show,

I can’t believe that life has come to this, but I am at a loss as to how to fix this problem. I am a college-educated employed school employee who is a single Mom of 2. For years I have worked at least two jobs to try to keep the boys and I in their childhood home. Finally in 2010 I had to give up the house. I just couldn’t afford the mortgage. I have now moved into a small apartment and the boys have been great about considering this an “adventure” and not a negative thing. Unfortunately, I recently had an injury which required me to have surgery. Because of the upfront deductible and emergency room costs from the injury, I have fallen behind in my rent. The $700 that should have gone to rent went to the hospital. The boys are really being sweet about realizing that we can’t do Christmas this year since they are teenagers and are both working to help as well. But my paycheck will not allow me to get to make up what I had to spend. My family is not in a position to help and I have no idea how to make this work. I made the mistake of taking out a loan from a check cashing place and now have $500 to try to pay back from that. I feel like an idiot because I am the classic case of someone who made their problem worse. This is very embarassing because what I do for a living involves me helping families and students who are in need and struggling. I feel like I am someone who needs to learn, not teach someone else. I know that you get so many letters from needy families and I hesitated to write this, but I am getting desperate. Thank you for all you do in the community. You make me laugh in the mornings, and sometimes I really need to start the day with a laugh. Blessings to you and the crew.
