Dear Johnny Dare Morning Show,
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. I’m writing to you to ask for something that might seem a little strange at Christmas time, but would mean the world to my family. My wife is an only child who has always been extremely close with her parents and we have 3 kids. This June, we tragically lost her father unexpectedly. The emotional toll this took on my wife and kids was unreal. He had no assets or insurance, so the costs of his funeral came out of pocket. We are not a wealthy family but between putting off some bills and the funeral home allowing us to make some payments, we were able to bury him in a cemetery close to our house. My wife and children visit there weekly. At the time of all this, due to all of the expenses, I was not able to afford a headstone for his grave. I thought I could catch up what bills I put off and buy it a little later. Unfortunately, it has been much harder to do than I thought. It breaks my heart to hear my kids ask why PaPa doesn’t have a ‘Stone’ like everyone else, and to see my wife put flowers on a grave with no marker. My father in law was a good man who would do anything for anyone, and I feel like I am failing him and my family by not having this complete. I know it sounds crazy, but if you know anyone that could help provide a basic headstone for my family, it would really be a gift that could provide us closure and help us move forward.
